FAQ'S
How Far in Advance Should I Schedule My Session?
It’s recommended to book your session at least three weeks in advance. Planning ahead provides flexibility and ensures your date is secured, allowing time to deliver your photos on schedule, especially if you need them for a specific event or deadline.
If you require a session urgently, please reach out as soon as possible to check my availability.
Where is the Studio Located?
Sessions take place at my home studio in Morgan Hill, California, conveniently located near San Jose. Alternatively, sessions can be held at an agreed-upon location within 20 miles of my studio.

The first week after the session, you’ll receive an online proof gallery to select your favorite photos.
2 to 3 weeks after you make your selection, the retouched digital photos will be delivered.
What are the payment methods?
50% is required to reserve your date, and the remaining 50% can be paid either the day before or on the day of the session.

There is no charge for locations within 20 miles of Morgan Hill (95037). For other areas, please contact us.
Is there any kind of guidance for the photos?
Yes. A digital guide is sent prior to the virtual meeting (if included in your package) with tips and recommendations on:
- Personal preparation
- Choosing the right time and location
- Atmosphere and accessories
How many people can attend the sessions?
Some sessions allow up to 4 people.
There is an additional charge of $30 per extra person. (The number of photos included in the package remains the same).
Do You Provide Dresses?
I do not provide wardrobe. It’s recommended that each family member selects outfits that reflect their personal style and feel comfortable wearing.
How Do We Prepare for the Session?
Before your session, we’ll have a pre-session call to go over all the important details. You’ll also receive a detailed email with a styling guide and recommendations on how to prepare for the session, which we’ll discuss during our call.
What Should We Wear?
What you choose to wear for your session is entirely up to you! Coordinating outfits with your family can make your photos look stunning, but it’s not mandatory. Try selecting a palette of 3 to 4 colors that complement each other, and incorporate those colors into your family’s outfits. Don’t shy away from patterns and textures—they can add depth and personality to your photos!
Do You Deliver Unedited Photos?
I do not provide unedited photos.
You can purchase additional edited images for an extra cost per image if you’d like.
WHAT IF WE HAVE A SICK CHILD? CAN WE RESCHEDULE OUR SESSION?
Absolutely! Life with kids is unpredictable, and sometimes they get sick. Just let me know as soon as possible so we can reschedule your session. I will do my best to fit you in on a later date. However, while I allow rescheduling due to illness, I do not offer deposit refunds for cancellations caused by sickness.
Will We Get a Print Release After Our Session?
Yes! Along with your images, you’ll receive a full print release. However, I highly recommend printing through my trusted providers, as the quality is unmatched. Photobooks, in particular, are a fantastic way to preserve and showcase your beautiful photos.
How Do We Choose a Location for Our Session?
You can select your own location or choose from a list of my favorite spots in the Bay Area. It’s helpful to browse images online to find a location that resonates with your style and aligns with the vision for your session.
What Time of Day is Best for Lighting?
The best time for your family session depends largely on the time of year, as lighting is influenced by the sun’s position. Generally, I aim for the first two or the last two hours of daylight, also known as the “golden hour,” for the most flattering and beautiful lighting.
Do You Edit All the Photos You Provide Us?
Absolutely! Every photo you receive will undergo basic editing, which includes color correction, sharpening, contrast adjustments, and vignetting to ensure it’s ready for printing. Additional edits are available upon request.
WE HAVE LITTLE KIDS. HOW CAN WE ENSURE OUR SESSION GOES SMOOTHLY?
Don’t worry! I have plenty of experience working with young children, and I’m a mom myself. The best thing you can do is relax, have fun, and let me handle the rest! Kids pick up on stress, which can make them less likely to cooperate. Leave the entertainment to me and let your kids just be kids.
Do I Have to Order Prints Through You?
I highly recommend ordering prints through my professional providers, though it’s not mandatory. The difference in quality is significant when ordering from a professional lab, so I encourage clients to order prints through their online proof gallery.
While you can choose to print elsewhere, I only guarantee prints ordered through my lab, as my system is calibrated specifically for their standards. If you decide to print elsewhere, please do so at your own risk.
